Brandon in Omaha: I cannot wait for the Lost finale!

I cannot wait to show you the Lost finale exclusive we scored! As I’ve been mentioning for a while now, the finale is nuts—there is at least one death and also that big “game changer”—and... big news! On Wednesday night, after the finale airs on the West Coast, right in this very spot, I will have an exclusive, sit-down, on-camera interview with the deceased Lostie (get ready to weep), plus, a Q&A with show runner Damon Lindelof to try and get to the bottom of what it all means. Make sure you check back Wednesday night or first thing Thursday morning.

Allison in Tallahassee: How many boxes of Depends will we need when watching the finale of Lost?!

If you haven’t been reading spoilers (and for your sakes, I really hope you all haven’t!), I’d hit up Costco and bring a truckload of 'em. The format of the show is a-changin'…Yeee! I'm also hearing that one of the three main actors might not be in every episode next season. I'll let you know more as I hear it.

Sawyer and Kate? Oh yeah, that's over...I'm told they spend season four in separate tents playing solitaire and whittling woodland animals out of peach pits. Kidding! There's a great deal left to be told about the relationship between Sawyer and Kate. Although I do also hear that Jack does most def profess his love to someone who is of the brunette beauty variety.

Rehashing Greatest Hits:

-The Looking Glass Hatch is called it because it is an Alice In Wonderland allusion.
-TLG is the underwater station referred to on Kelvin's map. They have been alluding to it ever since Sayid first found the wire on the beach.
-The cable could be a communication cable, not the power cable, or not the only power source for TLG.
-Damon points out that Jack's plans don't always work out. If Jack's plan were to work, it will probably have terrible repercussions on him personally.
-Cuse says they will answer definitively whether Charlie lives or dies before the season ends.

The Finale:

-They are still working on it and it isn't delivered until Tues Am for airing Wed.
-Don't want to say much about the Finale. Want us to arrive at our own conclusions. Things speak for themselves but then again they really don't.
-They hope Locke shows up in the Finale.

The Meeting

HOLLYWOOD — In last year's Lost season finale, Michael and Walt reunited, only to be sent sailing off the series. Tonight's two-hour finale (9 ET/PT, ABC) sees another emotional parent/child reunion.

This time, the characters are among the series' most mysterious.

Danielle Rousseau, or "the French lady" as she is known to many on the island, has popped up in the brush since Season 1. Her main objective: finding her daughter, Alex, who was kidnapped as an infant by the ominous Others.

Tonight, mother (played by Mira Furlan) and daughter (Tania Raymonde) finally come together in what producers promise will be an evening of conflict — and bloodshed — between the crash survivors and the Others.

Furlan, 51, and Raymonde, 19, have shared but one scene together, so during lunch at the French restaurant Café des Artistes, they eagerly swap stories about the show's super-secret closing scene and make plans to watch the finale together.

Their characters' on-screen reunion, shot weeks ago in Hawaii, occurred only minutes after the two met face to face for the first time.

"I think it worked out well that way," Raymonde says. "It was a huge moment for our characters and for me because I really wanted to meet this woman who was playing my mother. I was like, 'Mommmyyy!' "

"It's a basic human moment," Furlan says. "I'm glad I have such a beautiful partner."

With all the island mud scrubbed off their faces, it is easy to see why these actresses were cast as relatives.

"We have something in common, definitely," says Furlan, mother to son Marko, 8. "What do you think?" she asks Raymonde.

"I've talked to people who say, 'You look exactly like her,' " Raymonde says.

Both women, says Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams, "have given these characters such heart and soul. The challenge in a show like Lost with so many different people is characters getting lost, but they have made Danielle and Alex so identifiable and complex. I certainly think people are looking forward to seeing this reunion. It's something we've been playing to all year."

There was a moment several weeks ago when Danielle came close to reuniting with Alex, but chose to walk away. Furlan says she understands her character's ambivalence. "How can you ever be prepared for that moment?" she asks.

Adds Raymonde: "And how does Danielle expect her daughter to react? 'I've never met this woman before. I have no recollection.' "

"Maybe it has to come by chance, and not by choice," believes Furlan. "And that's kind of the way it might happen in the finale."

Furlan, whose character murdered her fellow scientific exploration crewmembers because they were "infected," is no stranger to treachery in her own life.

As an actress in her native Yugoslavia (now Croatia), Furlan fled the war-torn country in the early '90s. "Bloody, awful, hateful, horrible" are some of the words she uses to describe that turbulent time.

"My position as a very well-known actor (in film, TV and theater) put me in a very sensitive spot," recalls Furlan, who went on to play an alien on Babylon 5 (1994-9. "I was very outspoken about the war, and that brought me death threats."

With Danielle and Alex finally reuniting, the actresses now hope their characters will be given a chance to forge a relationship.

"It would be nice to have the characters develop," Furlan says. "But if it doesn't, it doesn't. I'm very Buddhist about this. Your life is a series of losses."

"They might have to eventually pick up where they left off," hints Raymonde. "But you never know. People disappear quite often on this show. We're just a part of this big machine."

All Abrams will say: "The ending is so mind-blowing, it's crazy."

Zap2it.com has a largely ignored interview with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse on their website. It's mostly about the announcement of three more seasons of 16 episodes each, but there is some new information about the type of characters who die in the finale:

So you're not going to tell me who dies.

Cuse: Well, at least five people die.

Lindelof: But, you know, not like five major, major characters. But a couple of major characters.

Cuse: I think probably if you're a close viewer of the show you could name all five people.

So when Locke DID hear JACOB, that really got...that freaked Ben out. That was a threat to Ben and his primacy. So he led him over to the pit and he shot him, 'cause he doesn't want his leadership of the Others challenged by John Locke.

(7) Show Seasons are designed around major story concepts. Season 3 was all about the Others, etc.
CUSE: "When you watch the finale, you'll get a pretty good idea of what Season 4 is gonna be about."

( JACOB is NOT an alien, as parallels to Walt's comic book might suggest.

(9) We will see more of The Purge.
What we saw was "only a taste of things to come."
Marvin Candle and others will be revisited.

(10) The powdery substance surrounding JACOB's cabin, and seen in his chair, may be volcanic ash.
In combination with other substances, this powder is probably confining JACOB.

(11) Did Ben kill Annie in The Purge too?
Annie will be revisited in a future "chapter" of the show.

(12) We will see the DHARMA shark again. It has a name: "JIM" (or "EZRA JAMES SHARKINGTON" in jest).
Hydra Station was used to study marine creatures. The shark's markings will be explained.

LOST

"Lost'"s executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof swear many viewers' questions will be answered by the end of season three. For instance, we'll know more about get a little defensive when you ask when the Others' bug-eyed leader, Ben (Michael Emerson). And though "Lost" isn't known for its romance, there will be some :really significant developments that occur in the romantic quadrangle of Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet in the finale – two that will be surprising for the audience," Cuse says.

Finally, the fight between the Losties and the Others finally comes to a head, and five people will die, although not all of them will be major cast members

One big mystery that has been resolved: the show will come to a conclusion in 2010, after airing in three shortened seasons of 16 episodes each. (9 p.m., ABC)

Ausiello: Sounds like someone didn't read my blind item very carefully. I refer to the duo in question as "former costars." Last time I checked, Matthew Fox and Elizabeth Mitchell were both still on Lost. That's just plain sloppy.

The reality is, you do know everything there is to know about Jack as a character in terms of what's driving him. But you don't know everything that's happened to Jack. And there is one sort of significant event that we've been holding back that happened to Jack and we're going to show it in the season finale. And as all great flashbacks on the show are, they pertain directly to what's happening on the Island.

Okay. But will the flashback structure be part of the show going forward?
LINDELOF: Let's have that conversation after the finale.
Does the finale set up season four?
CUSE: Yes. The finale clearly sets up season four of the show, and hopefully in doing so, people will see there is still a lot of storytelling left in Lost and will feel really good about the 48 number.
LINDELOF: And it will make you realize that the house you are standing in actually has a lot more rooms than you thought when you came into it.

Starting with the 2007-08 season, ABC will begin airing the 48 remaining original episodes of the hit drama "Lost," it was announced today by Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. About Lost

- Why no monkeys on the island? Joop is an important monkey and he may make an appearance. Joop is the failsafe cancellation episode! LOL Joop is the name of the monkey in a Jules Verne story.
- Will LOST run Jan -May next year and has Carnivore been picked up yet? Carnivore is in development. Yes, they think the show will run Jan-May.
- Will there be podcasts during the hiatus? Carlton would like to do some. The writers take a vacation for a month post season finale. They will be at Comicon again this year.
- Does Chris enjoy his job and what is it like to watch Darlton without pants every week? He does.
- When LOST is canceled, will ABC give the writers enough time to end the show well? The show will not end badly, and Darlton are still trying to determine an end date with ABC.
- Is the Hurley Bird Smokey? Where in Hurley's past did we see the bird? We've seen the bird in finales past and we may see it again, but it has never appeared to Hurley before he got to the island.
- 3 things have to happen in each podcast: Carlton has to comment about his lack of pants, Damon always answers q's from Carlton with "that's an interesting question, Carlton", and then there is a 99% chance that a phone will ring. I run a lost board and one of my members lives in Hawaii. Well they sent out a casting call for babies and she had just had one and her baby was picked to be in next weeks episode. SHE plays baby Ben. Here are some pictures form the set and the one on the bottom is from a few days ago when she ran into Michael Emerson at the store and he took a picture with his younger self.

UPDATE: While we were filming episode 20 with Amanda, the first scene with her was to be how Ben came into this world. However there is an inconsistency that we noticed in the second scene that she was a part of.

Ben's parents made it out of the forest after his mother delivered him in the forest. However, because of the loss of blood, she is dying. When they get by the side of the road, Ben's father flags down a couple driving a Karmon Ghia for help. Off to the side of them was a road sign going in the opposite direction that said, "Portland 32".

Now...didn't Ben say he was born on the island?

ABC Set to annouce Lost end date !

2:00 p.m. update:

Since this story launched earlier today, I have been hearing from multiple sources inside ABC that the story is "more complex" than what was originally reported by my colleague Marc Malkin in E! Online's Planet Gossip.

According to these sources, ABC will be making an announcement declaring an end date for Lost very soon. However, the exact number of remaining episodes and seasons is still muddy—and might not be exactly two seasons.

The good news? You don't have to wait long. I'm told the announcement will be made within the next few days.

My E! Online partner in crime Marc Malkin just announced in his column, Planet Gossip, that ABC is set to announce that Lost will end production after two more seasons.

I know. Breathe, Lost fans. Breathe.

Here's what I can tell you. I just spoke to insiders at ABC and they tell me the network and producers have reached a decision on an end date and they are expected to announce it very soon. This is meant to be a good thing, because now the producers finally can start mapping out the remaining episodes and rolling out some of the major reveals and answers we fans have been waiting for.

I'm also told there are more big changes in store for the show!

According to sources, ABC is planning to push back Lost's return date to January of next year in order to air new episodes back-to-back, and it is also "extremely likely" that Lost will change time slots next season.

Still, the biggest change may be that massive, mind-blowing, cast-related "game-changer" I keep hinting about—to which I am sworn to secrecy, for it is that big—which is revealed in the season finale. (I cannot wait for you to see it.)

Word is, Lost is moving to an earlier hour, which will make at least one fan happy: Josh Holloway's brother. "I do feel like we're in the wrong time slot," Josh told me during my recent trek to the set in Hawaii. "Most definitely too late, because I lost my own brother. He’s like, 'Dude, I got to get to work in the morning!' I’m just going to say it. Let’s move it back to 9 o’clock or 8 o’clock."

Let it be said that Josh Holloway and his brother have mad pull.

So, what do you all think of saying goodbye to Lost in only two more seasons? And, more important, who needs a hug? 'Cause I could sure use one..

FILMING RIGHT NOW rainy alley way....Charlie is wearing the same black leather jacket and carrying his guitar just like the flashbackscene he had with Desmond so this is a continuation of that same day Desmond met Charlie singing on the sidewalk.

Hmmm, so I would assume that Naomi knows Desmond because at this scene, it puts them all in the same general area on the same day.

They are also setting up now at the same corner where Desmond and Charlie came upon eachother in London, only they have a big "green screen", and they haven't decorated anything else, so I'm assuming they'll be bringing down the rainmaking stuff and Desmond may show up with Charlie and/or Naomi to tie it all together and they will just green screen the rest later in the background.

Well, there's a lot going on as far as that mysterious visitor from last week, who you probably figured out by the credits is Miss Marsha Thomason from Las Vegas. I also hear that [read only if you want to know!] this week there will be shocking moment when the fallen angel (Thomason) tells Hurley the fate of the real (wtf?!) Oceanic Flight 815.

Site visitor Matt sent us information about what (this name is a spoiler until it is told to us in an ep) will tell the survivors about Flight 815: "At the close of the episode our beloved cast aways will inform the parachute girl that they're survivors of Oceanic flight 815. The parachute girl will give them the unfortunate news that what they've just told her is impossible seeing as how the wreckage of that flight was found and recovered, and that there were no survivors. The episode promptly ends thereafter."

They are now casting for a 40-year-old flight attendant.

On still-mysterious Lost, no season-finale is complete without someone dying. Who that will be is still anyone's guess. The survivors of Flight 815 will have another showdown with the "Others," the origins of the Dharma Initiative will be explained, and the beach occupants divide into two camps: one run by Jack (Matthew Fox) and the other Sawyer (Josh Holloway). One old face you will not be seeing is Harold Perrineau as Michael, who actually turned down an opportunity to return in the season finale. 3.17 - Catch 22 (Desmond Centered)
Desmond gets a flash of the future and enlists Hurley, Charlie, and Jin to join him on a mysterious hike. Hurley becomes suspicious that Desmond may be acting without everybody's best interests in mind. Desmond's vision reference the cable that Sayid, and later Hurley, found in season one. If you'll recall, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse told BuddyTV that a major reveal was coming up concerning that cable later on. This episode will close with Desmond and the gang finding a mysterious parachutist named Naomi who may have compelling information concerning one of the current island occupants.

3.18 - D.O.C (Sun/Jin Centered)
Juliet finds out that Sun is pregnant and tells her that women who conceive on the island could die if they carry to term. Sun responds by telling her that the baby may not have been conceived on the island, in fact it may not even be Jin's child. So the two set off for the medical hatch to try to determine when the baby was conceived. Meanwhile, Desmond and his crew scramble to save the life of the mysterious Naomi and are assisted by an old enemy, seems eye patch guy survived the fence after all.

3.19 - The Brig (Locke Centered)
Locke slips away from the others and lures Sawyer away from the beach. Flashbacks will reveal what Locke has been up to with the others since they abandoned their 'village'. In a secluded Dharma holding cell, Locke will bring Sawyer together with Anthony Cooper for a fate full encounter that will resolve a long standing season one mystery. Meanwhile, Naomi will return to the beach with some alarming information concerning flight 815, but can she be trusted?

3.20 - The Man Behind the Curtain (Ben Centered)
The past of the island is explored including how Dharma came to be there, why, and what the fateful 'purge' was really all about. Flashbacks will show Ben through various ages up until adulthood. The mysterious 'Jacob' will finally be revealed, and the question of whether any Dharma members still live will be revealed.

3.21 - The Truth About Lying / The Greatest Hits (Charlie Centric)
Rescue is finally at hand for the survivors of Oceanic 815, but first someone must reconnect an underwater sonar beacon. Despite his foretold death, Charlie volunteers. Copious rumors suggest that Charlie dies in this episode, but some new rumors I've been hearing suggest that this is a huge misdirection and there will be another highly unexpected major character death instead.

3.22/3.23 - Through the Looking Glass (Jack Centric)
This episode promises a Jack revelation of legendary proportions! Also, there will finally be an en masse collision between the beach folk and the Other's. On the speculation end of things, folks are saying that the island folk will split into two factions themselves, one led by Jack, and one by Sawyer, but the division will be at the will of another, and for purposes no one will expect.

There will be a huge, Armageddon-ish battle between the Others and the Losties and it will not be the kind of thing you’d see in the 8 p.m. hour. Think savage. And think freakishly good.
Another Other will get a flashback. And it just might be the best episode ever. So, will it be Ben? Michael Emerson coyly answered a question about such a prospect, saying, "I would look forward to a Ben flashback. I can't wait for such a thing to happen. I'm not sure when the audience is going to see that happen, but…When we do a Ben flashback, what would be the use of it if we didn't get to go back in time with Ben and see him? How exciting will that be? To see little Bens or different stages of Bens, maybe a whole mess of Bens! I can't wait for that." Neither can we fans!
There will be at least one character death that comes as a complete and total shock to the fans.
There will be at least two smoochfests between two different sets of characters before the season ends. Awww...yeah.

Crave Online: On that second island, do you miss the cast you worked with last year like Naveen Andrews and Terry O'Quinn?
Michael Emerson: Yeah, it's funny, working on a show with as large a cast as we have here, your work gets sort of compartmentalized.
There's still about half the cast that I've never had a scene with but I have missed working with Terry.
I think there might be something coming up where we get to do some scene work together.

The brazillian actor Rodrigo Santoro might abandon the tv show on it's third season, the same in which he joined the cast.
He spoke about his quick 'stay' on the show, in an interview published on the magazine Rolling Stone Brasil.

Rodrigo tells us that his character, Paulo, is probably dying before the end of the third season.

"It's not like i don't give a caesar salad about the show, this is a wonderful opportunity.
I would like to be in LOST a bit more, but right now I'm more turned towards movie projects." he says in the interview.

According to the same magazine, Rodrigo's last scenes should be filmed this month.

CC: There does seem to be. *chuckles* 'Our IQ seems to have dropped very perceptibly since our last podcast. Um, um, not only was that sex scene ridiculous, but the cage Kate and Sawyer effed in was not at the same cage that Sawyer was locked up in. Once the clothes came off did you see how much bigger and more roomy that cage was? How did the waterhole bearfeeding machinery disappear all of a sudden so they had enough room to roll around. And why all of a sudden did these two's hormones get excited, certainly there's been plenty of opportunities prior to coming to Island 2 for these two to get it on. At least in a cleaner environment.

DL: Wow, first off. Kate and Sawyer specifically reserved the honeymoon cage. *CC titters* So that explains the extra added space and the release of the machinery. No, I'll be honest with you. We have the dailies, they shot that scene in exactly the same..

A funny question which was obviously sarcastic about Kate's backstories and needing to know if she broke the law and is running from something.
CC's sarcastic response was cute: I guess if you blow your father up that might not be an illegal act, as having sex with someone doesn't mean you are necessarily committed to them.

11/08 - Lots of filming activity this past week. Last week on Nuuanu Avenue, a bar interior and a London street scene (featuring 1995 concert posters and a military recruiting office). On Sunday, filming inside the Hawaii State Supreme Court Building, with its pillars and marble and hardwood stairs. On Monday, an interior shoot at "Stanwyck's Antiques" (using the same space as Locke's "Walkabout" tour office). But the big shoot is Tuesday, Nov. 7. Fort Steet Mall, a major pedestrian thouroughfare downtown, was transformed into a busy London city street. A London Underground entrance, black taxi cabs, a newsstand and red phonebooth, palm trees turned into noble oaks... Desmond exits Widmore Industries, upset, yanking off his tie and throwing it to the ground. He then comes across Charlie, strumming "Wonderwall" on the corner and collecting change in his guitar case. Then the conversation gets surreal. Desmond is having an epiphany, and seems delirious. "Remember the rain? It happened before!" and "This is happening!" He seems to be having one of his spells of deja vu. Last scene of the day. Same London street, but perhaps a very different time. Desmond is no longer wearing his dapper suit, but rather, a drab coat and scarf, looking somewhat destitute. He's wandering around the entrance to the London Underground, ranting like your typical neighborhood schitzo. He spots and sits next to an elegant, older, white-haired woman in a purple gown. They converse. Suddenly there's a crash! People panic. It's a construction accident nearby, and Desmond stands, distressed. The woman approaches calmly. She gives him a ring. He gives her money. 11/14 - A wonderful location shoot in downtown Honolulu turned Fort Street Mall near Hawaii Pacific University into Bangkok, Thailand. Two blocks away, the Indigo Restaurant on Nuuanu Avenue played both a tattoo parlor, and a restaurant. All this appears to be for Ep. 3x09, a Jack-centric episode. The night shoot for "Bangkok" was as colorful as any for "LOST," with signs and lights and sexy dancers. Two days of meticulous setup netted ten seconds of footage, in which a mysterious woman in red walks down the crowded street and turns down a narrow alley. Jack follows. Check it out!

1) Despite wide-spread rumors, Matthew Fox's character, Jack, will not be shot by Juliet when LOST returns on February 7th.
In-fact, Juliet will shoot Pickett who is on the verge of killing Sawyer, leaving herself in a precarious position with the others.

2) This isn't necessarily good news Jack fans, however. Fox is already state-side and is going to hosting Saturday Night Live in December. All that time off the island can only mean one thing: he's not filming LOST. Sources close to the set insist that Fox is not part of the reunion that takes place in episode eight...

3) Sawyer and Kate return to the beach at the end of the episode.

4) Episode nine is the final update on Jack's status. He stayed behind to repair Ben, but will he now get off the island as he was promised or not?

5) Need further evidence that Ben survives? Currently the plan is for the season three finale to be Ben centric.

6) Doc Arzt makes a return this season via flash-back. Not that thrilling, I know, but I can barely contain myself.

7) There are two more deaths planned after Pickett, both major character deaths.

8) A super secret spy tells us Patchy's name is either "Rainer" or "Ranier", but admits that the info is from very early development. French Dharma guy with an eye-patch? Sounds kinda groovy.

9) Bai Ling will play the tattoo artist who brands Jack in episode nine.

10) Libby fans will probably have to wait another season to get more of her story. The characters she crosses with in flashback have not been introduced, but are pivotal in a game-changing way.

Hottest. TV sex. scene. ever.

In case you missed it, I have to point out that Damon and Carlton (the big Lost cheeses) just did about the scoopiest official podcast ever! They revealed/confirmed that (a) Jae Lee (Sun's lover) killed himself and was not murdered by Sun or anyone else; (b) baby Clementine is quite possibly real and really Sawyer's daughter—and they further implied that the little cutie might reappear in a future flashback; (c) Kate loves Sawyer (I tried to slip that one in here real fast so you Jaters won't have a heart attack); (d) there's a pretty good chance that one of the characters is gay (my money's on Tom); (e) Scott's dead, but the Scott-Steve actors argued over which one plays Scott; and (f) Turbine Man from the pilot episode was, in fact, Bad Twin author Gary Troup. Whew!

Gladly. I have been able to dig up a few facts regarding this so-called death. And they are:

It's not Hurley. I'm told by my Letterman mole that he's actually promoting his mole and by ABC sources that episode 10 will be a Hurley flashback, courtesy of a very much alive Hurley.
If you've seen the new Entertainment Weekly, you also know that Juliet apparently shoots someone in a group on the beach that includes Sawyer, Kate and the Others. She does it with two bullets from a Sig Sauer (the same model of gun that the Marshall carried).
According to sources, it's not Jack, Sawyer, Sun, Kate or Locke.

I don't watch the show -- so I don't know who The Marshal is. I think that it is that guy who did a few BUffy episodes... hard to tell though. He was cute.

The wedding was supposed to be set in Miami. The scene we were in is just the kiss scene. My big scoop is the officiant says something like "I have known Kevin since he was about yeah high. I haven't known Monica for as long - but when I asked Kevin to describe her tears welled up in his eyes and he said ' with Monica, what you see is what you get.'"

Yes - Monica.

There was also something with cops -- but we we[/B]ren't in that scene so I don't know.

From what I’ve heard, it is one and the same. Though I’m only 99 percent sure on that, given how things have been changing from the script! Don’t forget that I’ll be watching this Wednesday’s Lost with you (at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) on the message boards. And ooh, mama, it’s a crazy episode! Not only do you see the most dramatic exchange between Kate and any man ever on this show (hint: It is a life-or-death love confession), but you can expect the following happenings:
